Our mission

Since Gratex International Australia was founded in 1999, we have never been just about developing smart software.

We know that technology is not the end-point, but that it presents the opportunity to re-think, change or build your business.

Our Story

Starting as an IT services provider, Gratex built its first insurance software product in 2007. In 2008, UPM, our signature underwriting process management platform was launched. Now, as then, our goal is to encode the unique IP of your business, how it works, how things get done, how staff and digital touch points deliver a compelling customer experience.

To deliver solutions successfully, we consider how people use technology to do their job, even better, let technology do the work for them. We love our tech, but we also want to cut through the jargon and buzzwords, translating it into practical solutions that deliver in the real world.

We’ve seen the tech landscape evolve, bringing previously out of reach products into the hands of every business. So we challenged ourselves to deliver a low code, fully hosted and ready to go platform and launched UPM Cloud in 2021.

Our diverse team embodies our values of integrity and hard work and that’s reflected in our honest and direct approach.

Looking to the future, we will continue to evolve UPM to meet the needs of a diverse range of insurance agencies, from startups to enterprise starting with the question “how can we develop a technology solution to drive your success”.
